The Tennessee Titans have suspended offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson for Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the latest misstep in a disappointing rookie season for the 2020 first-round draft pick.
The Titans said Wilson was suspended for “violating club rules.” They placed him on reserve and elevated recently signed lineman Marshall Newhouse from the practice squad for the Browns game.
The Titans had already ruled Wilson out against the Browns on Sunday for what was listed on the team’s Friday injury report as an “illness,” though it’s unclear if it was related to COVID-19 or not.
The No. 29 overall pick in April’s NFL Draft out of the University of Georgia, Wilson hasn’t been a factor this season for the Titans, who could use help at his position, given the injuries to tackles Taylor Lewan and Ty Sambrailo.

Nonetheless, Wilson didn’t play in the season’s first 11 games. He debuted Sunday in the final moments of a 19-point victory over the Colts.
Wilson was arrested and charged with DUI three days before the season opener, and he has twice been put on the team’s COVID-19 list.
