The New England Patriots will once again have their game pushed from Sunday to Monday.

The NFL postponed the Patriots’ upcoming contest at home against the Denver Broncos to Monday, KUSA’s Mike Klis reported, with multiple New England players having tested positive for COVID-19 in the last week.

The Patriots played against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, with the game being delayed a day after the team learned Saturday of quarterback Cam Newton’s positive test for COVID-19. All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive on Tuesday, while practice-squad defensive lineman Bill Murray also was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list.

Thursday’s tests for the Patriots returned no new positives, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

New England is set to have its bye the following week.

The Patriots’ facility has remained closed since Wednesday. Coach Bill Belichick said Thursday he the team had “followed all the protocols” mandated by the NFL and NFL Players Association related to COVID-19, though multiple reports indicated the league was investigating the organization on its compliance.

Belichick would not say whether he believed the game against the Chiefs, a 26-10 Patriots loss, should have been played given that Gilmore tested positive afterward.

“There’s a lot of decisions and things out of our control,” Belichick said. “What I’m trying to do is to focus on the things that we have control over and do the best job and make the best decisions we can in those situations.”

The Tennessee Titans’ game against the Buffalo Bills was also postponed to Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Titans have had 23 positive tests for COVID-19 since Sept. 24.
