A man was found dead in the pond of Manhattan’s Morningside Park early Sunday, according to police.
The unidentified man — who is believed to be in his 30s — was found in Morningside Pond near 114th Street just before 9 a.m., the NYPD said.
Police officers could be seen early Sunday covering the body as they prepared to remove it from an edge of the pond covered in rocks.
“It’s definitely an eerie feeling,” said 31-year-old Meaghan McDevitt at the park on Sunday. “I walk here a few times a day with my dog. It’s usually beautiful.”
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, police said.
